Hi, DenisFerrari!

The developers are working on the major feature of the SSMS 2 right now which is a lot of work and it's why it's taking so long. Please be patient, it'll be done.

             Cheers,

I was told SSMS2 was a year off towards the end of last year.

I'd personally wait for a finished product than have something released that wasn't ready and full of bugs.

Of course it would be nice to see the odd teaser. I'll expect the game when it's been released and no sooner.

Much respect for the talented devs and ground crew that make this the awesome sim that it is!!

Animation question: The thing that has bugged me about some space simulations  is how rocket/engine exhaust is depicted as these nice straight columns of gas...even in the upper atmosphere. Why don't animators accurately depict the expansion of exhaust gases at higher altitudes?

I can't really speak for this one, but for Shuttle at least, the game was designed to use one texture for exhaust regardless of location. Also the reason they do it in movies is because "The audience would be too s****d to know the engine is firing if we don't add in an enormous fireball!" |=

It is normal that the forum activity would go down now that Exciting didn't released new mission since a while. I am sure that traffic will start again once SSMS2 will be close to release ! Don't worry about that !

IMHO, the most important thing is our reply time to solve a problem here with a new member (less than 12hours ! and some time mess than 1 hours depending the hour).

Another thing is that many users use the search function and find their answers and thus did not need to ask for help.

Indeed. Work at this end is on-going full steam. There is still a lot to be done.

I remember when I was new here, and I was really pleased to see that the community still fully supported SSM2007 and were eager to help. I always hoped that I knew enough one day to return the favour.

One of these days i'll fire the sim back up again and finish off the last 4 missions (before SSMS2) but with a wedding to prep for this weekend my time for general relaxation stuff is short.

Keep up the good work to all those still active.

It's a rainy and cold day. Snow is falling. What to do, what to do. Guess I'll get a shuttle up in orbit. Time to ride a virtual rocket!
