I was going to post this response on the other thread, but thought it was excessively off-topic....
Yes, fraps generates large, uncompressed video files. But, that means that fraps has minimal impact on system resources while recording (meaning, your frame rates don't drop into single-digits as soon as you start recording) because it doesn't hog system resources by compressing the video on-the-fly.
You can load your clip(s) from fraps into Windows Movie Maker (or similar video-editing program), assemble the video if required (ie. multiple clips into one big video), and export it as a compressed video format like wmv or mpeg. Then it's much faster to upload to Youtube.
While it doesn't solve your problem with SSMS directly, hopefully this helps to post the video demonstrating the problem so that maybe a solution can be found.
