I finally finished STS-1

After a few glitches with the program skipping steps and a horrible time landing, I finally finished STS-1.

This is the most amazing computer game ever.  I applied to NASA ASCAN last year in the hopes of this kind of experience...but this is as good as it will get for this man and now my kids can join in the fun too...

Welcome to the virtual ASCAN Academy Chris,

You better start flying and prepare for the next version of SSM! You'll need every ounce of sweat you spend on SSM2007 - 8)

Hello my name is Nigel I'm from York in England, UK. I just bought this sim after trying the demo because I used to have the old Virgin Space Shuttle game for my Amiga 600. I remember seeing the first Columbia launch - I took the day off school just for it and recorded the audio on my old cassette recorder to listen again and again later - I will never forget that launch.

In fact I am surprised it took so long for me to buy this game as I've been looking at the website on and off for years now and I've always been interested in spaceflight. I guess because its actually quite a slow game I had to be in the right mood.

Ive always also liked astronomy and I got Starry Night Sky Pro a few months ago which is great for seeing the ISS and various satellites. I did see the ISS go over a few months ago which maybe seeded the item of buying this game - who knows? I looked for the HTV but got the timing or something completely wrong for some reason and never saw the shuttle docked, next mission I will be looking for it though.

Anyway I am up to mission STS-8 on medium difficulty and I've already blown up one shuttle due to re-entering at the wrong attitude, and crashed on landing several times. Certainly the game is difficult but I like a challenge. I am looking forward to the ISS missions.

Dont know whats going on at the moment with PC gaming - Shuttle, Space Shuttle Mission 2007, and very soon the Apollo/Space Shuttle Simulator (which looks pants but still nice to see these things coming out). Whats going to be next - a Wing Commander remake? Elite 4? Interesting times that's for sure.

Hello I'm new here I'm Ron from the USA.  I just bought this sim from my locial Bestbuy store its called the collector's edition.  Anyway what a great sim I've been working with STS-1 lastnight.  I come from a backround with many years in MicroSoft flgihtsim and the VATSIM network.  I was always looking for a good space simutlator.
Thanks for great product and hello to everyone.

Hello everybody,

I'm new here, I'm from Germany and after a visit to Merrit Island this May(including KSC Admission, Astronaut Training Experience and Launch viewing of STS-132 from Titusville) I am more addicted to the STS program than I ever was.

I found this simulator 2 weeks ago and I am looking forward to accomplish all the provided missions one by one. Yesterday I finished STS-51A, you did a great job with this sim, keep up the good work! I'll try to finish all missions before SSM2010 is getting released, because then I can start all over again! ;-)

I can't wait to fly my first ISS mission, this stuff is so great! I am really glad to be part of this terrific community now, I could spent hours (wait... I acually do) reading your discussions about radiator deployment and all that.

So, to make a long story short: great sim, great community, for long fun evenings to come!

Good luck with your missions and see you all in orbit! Godspeed!

Cheers,
Ronin

Welcome Ronin,

We are happy you're enjoying being on (virtual) orbit together with us.

Now we're working on the next generation of the sim with which we hope to surprise the community with new, cool features and missions.

Have fun!

Hi all,

At first, saddened for my not very correct English!
I had the happiness to discover the space in July1969, since it became one of my hobbies.
I am Belgian and fifty-year-old, my passions are the diverse simulators and SSM2007 brings one more in the dumping, thanks to the creators!

Don't worry Dan! Not everybody here speaks fluent English, but that's no problem. We are all bound by the passion for Space Exploration and that's more than enough :)
