I remember taking one for the team and getting a detention in high school in NJ when I stayed home to watch the first attempt that was scrubbed.  I went in late after the scrub and proudly explained that I stayed home to watch the 1st Shuttle launch.  The nuns were kind but gave me the detention anyway.  Then my mom and I watched it finally go that Sunday morning on the 12th!  I'll never forget it!
