Re-Building Mir, with a Hammer and Sickle

WWW

Hi just a few questions for you:
  • Is SSM2007 only going to be released just on the Windows Platform? nice if I could use the ppc/intel iMacs?
  • Are you going to have 'training' missions, e.g. before you are certified to fly, you have to complete various training tasks like landing the STA, use of the RMS, EVA training?
  • Are there user defined missions, or is it all historical and pending STS flights?
  • Pause and Save features, as I'm often called away
  • multi-user* function - fly missions with other users, who can join when required, leave when not required, or just watch? Probably no, but worth asking Wink

*I hate the term Multiplayer when refering to sims

Hi George,

  • Platform: SSM07 will be released on MS Windows platforms only.
  • Training: Yes, you will have training "modes".
  • Missions: For now, only historical missions - believe me, you'll have your hands full with challenges anyway.
  • Pause/Save: Yes and Yes.
  • Network: Not at release time, but we MAY change this as we move on.

Best,

Sorry to be a pain in the neck, but another couple of questions popped up as I was assembling my Freetrack IR headset:

  • Is there going to be a full 'useable' 3D cockpit, or is it all 2D when issuing commands?
  • Is there going to be support for FreeTrack and Track-IR, with 6DOF

We said that you "build" the ISS. That already implies that you shall see the ISS in various stages of construction and the additions you make to it by finishing the missions, shall be reflected in the 3D model.

The ISS looks will match that of the mission you currently fly. If it is only the first module, Zarya, than that would be all. To it, you will add the Unity module, so you will have both modules in space, and so on. If it is the ISS of STS-116, then you'll have much more to see of the ISS of course and so on until "we" finish the ISS in 2010 Cheesy.

Hope that this answers your question,

Hello,

I have just a question concerning date and time you use in this forum. When we saw that a subject has been posted for example at 07:48:09 am, at which time is it referenced? GMT, EDT, CDT? As I'm living in France, it's important for me to make the good corrections.

Thanks a lot.

If there are Classic Missions in SSM2007, i.e. STS-1 and ALT tests, is the cockpit going to have the original layouts with CRT and original Ejector Seats, rather than the MEDS version?

Fair enough. When I read it orginally, I assumed that you where refering to that fact that some of the Shuttle (and Missions) have different layouts. Learning how to use the 'CRT' version would be problematic for inexperienced users.

Maybe the user could 'chose' whether to use the 'historical' Cockpit or the MEDS one. This is not a request, or could you think about implementing it, it is merely just a comment Smiley

We hear you. Comments and suggestions are welcome - they may be part of what the NEXT release (or free updates) will be Smiley. I guess we should brace for suggestions after the release, eh? lol
