I save my missions at Mission Comm, Radio blackout, and at the HAC For that very reason commenderyoyo.  Grin Looks like a good lesson learned! Wink

man I know that feeling. I am on 26 landing and every time I start manual control 2 feet away from the HAC so by the time I get through the HAC turns I am at 45,000 on pre-final. I can't correct fast enough to land without an "Attitude not normal" problem at the end. I think something screwy happens at de-orbit because I get very close to the edge of the high limit band. then the guidance drops me like a brick later to 80k.

that happens because you ACTUALY need to descent the shuttle and follow the HAC!!!

On STS-28 I did a completely pointless quicksave right before I stalled 3 feet over Edwards >.<

Well, there are more often than not more than one perspective to just about anything you want to consider.  This certainly applies to the quicksave feature.

Won't repost what I wrote in my "hello" post, but I will say without further qualification that my intention is to use the quicksave/save features of this program when playing the game on medium difficulty as often as I like, as many times as I like, for training purposes.  Will be treating the game as a simulator at the medium difficulty setting.

However, when I jump the setting up to hard, the only reason I will use the quicksave or save feature will be so that I can resume the mission I am currently conducting at a later time due to realworld responsibilities, etc. But that's it, no other saves for me when I conduct a mission "for real" on the hard difficulty setting.  To me, this will add an entirely new level of consequences for my actions in the game.  In short, everything will really be on the line as much as possible.  Landing short is landing short, for the real shuttle astronauts there is no such thing as a "do-over".

But that is simply going to be MY way, not necessarily the RIGHT way.  The right way to conduct a mission with SSM 2007, is however it gives you the most enjoyment/fun.  So, to each their own and I wish you all a great time with this unique and wonderful software program.  Just thought I'd share my thoughts with you all, they cost the same 2 cents as everyone elses, lol.   Grin Wink
