Title: Reactivation
Post by: mborgia on January 10, 2013, 10:04:56 PM
Hi...

I have just migrated to a new hard drive and found that Space Shuttle Mission 2007 is demanding a serial number and activation codes that I no longer possess after five years.  Can you provide that information please???  Let me know what additional data you might need.

T-31 seconds and holding.  Please be advised that with APU's running, our unplanned hold capability is limited to seven minutes....

Michael

Please read the Quickstart Manual page 11 and following. There is everything you need.

Thanks...I'm back in orbit again thanks to your advice and some good quick service.  Looking forward to completing Shuttle maintenance down period and getting back to orbit with SSM 2

I've same problem. I have serial and activation code, but they don't work. When I insert them and press enter the program quits without any message. I use Win7 64x now and when I installed SSM it was XP 32 .. may be I need to reinstall again ?

Any changes in hardware will result in a NEW unique key being generated. This will be different from the key/serial that you got in the email with the original purchase.

As Christa has said, if you've not requested this before you can contact Exciting Similuations' support (from the email address that you purchased the sim from initially if possible), provide the new key the software is now displaying and they should send you a new code back which will work.

I've used this service and its quick and easy

Ground team is agreeably quick on this.  I reported my problem one evening after hours and they had new information to me by the next morning, even though after five years I was missing some of the information they wanted.  They have it all on hand.

Reactivation always was a pain. As soon as one formats the hard drive you get into trouble. And the number of activations also is limited, sadly. Last time I lost my activation was when my USB stick quit working.

The activation of SSM is a safe thing for Exciting Simulations in terms of priacy. But it can become a pain for the user easily, especially if one updates hardware on a regular basis.

Use a thumb-drive for the next installation. In case any other hardware needs a replacement or even the whole PC, your installation is still valid.

I got issued a new activation. I guess as long as you can provide the original purchase info to the support e-mail they will activate it for you. But don't take this as gospel.

Is the support still active?

What if they close the web site some day and one needs a new activation?
