Title: Last Synchronized Lauch - Will you attend?
Post by: Admin on July 05, 2011, 08:57:38 PM
Dear friends,

This will be the very LAST synchronized launch, and we plan to attend.

We hope that many of you will join us in a virtual, but sincere salute to the STS program, its crews and heroes, and join the real Space Shuttle during its last liftoff.

After this event, the only way to experience the excitement and comlexity of full Space Shuttle missions will be through our simulator.

As you know, we are hard at work, preparing the next major version of the sim, the second in what we hope to be a long line of future releases.

See you all on Orbit!

Good stuff, guys.  If I wasn't attending, this is exactly what I would be doing!  (While getting an earful from the wife at the same time) :P

You can still do it. Take your laptop and fire the sim on location. No need for NASATV since all the calls will be on the speakers. You'd be doing a double: last real STS AND SSMS synch launch ever!

Imagine the looks you'd get ;)

I just got a job a couple weeks ago. Guess what. I start work an hour before launch! :(
But I will certainly be with the synced launch if it goes on Saturday!

Wish I could join you now, but I have to watch for my children. :(

But watching this per Livestream.

Hope you have a nice launch and the start is synced!

I lift my hat before the crew, the engineers and all the people who helped to develop the shuttle, all the astronauts who lift off and last but not least (NEVER at least) the brave men and women who left theire lifes on Challenger and Columbia.

Your are gone but never forgotten!

Thanks go also to the groundcrew of SSM2007. Thanks to give is the opportunity to experience a little part of the shuttle program!

When we get to implement STS-135, this will be one of the highlights ;)

And I hope another highlight will be the unique flyaround with the ISS at a 90 yaw attitude.
