Title: The importance of alignment on re-entry...
Post by: Valkyrie on December 31, 2007, 06:58:01 AM
While I no longer have the screenshots or footage of the event, while I was beta testing and crafting the video I was coming in for a landing at Kennedy in STS-117....

Suffice it to say I wasn't paying much attention to aligning the shuttle during re-entry and really didn't follow the correct procedures. When I went to film the plasma scenes for the video, I ended up coming in almost 180 degrees in the opposite direction, with the tail end FACING the re-entry point. Lets just say that it was a hot re-entry and a few of the team members got a laugh at the footage I had filmed....

Good thing I don't command one of these things.
